A LETTER FROM TONY, THE CREATOR OF OUTWORDS JOUNEY

For 63 years I was on a journey to find wholeness. When I finally accepted who I was and acknowledged that I am a Gay man. I liked myself for the first time.

It was a long journey to get to that point with decades of therapy that did not include any discussion of sexual orientation. I felt isolated, depressed and alone. I believed that I was the only homosexual in the world. When I accepted who I am my personality changed and so did my outlook on life. Sharing my story with others helped with my healing. It created community because I found others who had similar experiences. I found allies who understood and loved me for who I am.

“Outwords Journey” was created to create a safe supportive environment to help those of the LGBTQ+ community on their journey to wholeness. It creates a platform for the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to share life experiences in story form. By letting the person who had the experience write and share their story the audience connects with the storyteller which creates new perspectives, enlightens, start conversations and may even change a heart.

WHAT WE DO

We believe
in the power of
transformation
through storytelling

Some audience members may be moved to seek advice to further their journey to wholeness. Others may seek information to get a better understanding about the LGBTQ+ community. “Outwords Journey” is establishing alliances with organizations that will help those who want to move forward in their journey. At each event we will have a booth that provides information about those organizations and the services they provide. For those seeking a place to worship we will also provide a list of church’s in the area that are open and accepting.
